#270 | BUFFET AT THE CROWN'S CONSERVATORY RESTAURANT

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

Having heard great things at about the buffet at the Conservatory, we decided to give it a go. We made a booking earlier that day for the same night, and lucky us, they had one last table available. The restaurant was very beautiful, the food stations amazing and the waitstaff friendly. For the most part, the food was alright, except for some of the seafood. The prawns and crab were a little mushy, which was disappointing. Apart from that, there was a good variety of different dishes, and the food generally tasted ok, but on the same note, nothing really stood out.  For an expensive dining experience, we left the venue a little disappointed, especially when we compared it to the fantastic meal at Chin Chin the night before. We probably were just unlucky in our experience.

#269 | KING & KNAVES ESPRESSO

   MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

Smoked Salmon Toast
Avocado Toast

For breakfast one morning, we ducked into King and Knaves Espresso which was not too far from where we were staying, to have some loaded up toast. We had one with smoked salmon, beetroot relish, preserved lemon labneh and dill. The other had avocado, feta, Egyptian Dukkha, corn relish and herbs. Definitely a very decked out toast compared to our usual homemade ones with Vegemite or peanut butter, and it was such a treat! King and Knaves is a small little cafe in Melbourne CBD. It was a weekday when we visited, so we saw lots of people popping in for coffee to go. Nice place for coffee and a small bite to eat.

#268 | BUILDING A HOME - HOUSE UPDATE #12

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

2 weeks after handover and we got a few things done. The upstairs flooring and lighting is now installed. Our pendant lights over the kitchen island is also in. Wasn't too sure whether black pendants will look nice in our kitchen. Was worried there'd be too much black in this space, but I think it turned out alright. Our Colorbond fence has also just been put in, and the concrete for the driveway will be poured next week on Wednesday. We've booked in the move for the Boy's place the same week on Saturday and my dad and brother will help me with my move on Sunday. It's all happening! Time to get cleaning and packing and just preparing for the new life ahead. The Boy and I have been together for almost 8 years now, and while we've had sleepovers, we'll now be properly living together, full time. So it's a big change, but one where we are moving in the right direction.
