#12 | IRASSHAIMASE! EATING AT ASAKUSABASHI

TOKYO, JAPAN

We touched down at Narita airport in the afternoon. Arriving at this time meant that the rest of the day was spent getting out of the airport, finding our hotel, settling in, taking a nap and then filling up the empty belly with some good food. Our first meal in Tokyo was Japanese curry rice at King of Curry (Kare-no-Ousama) in Asakusabashi, which was where we stayed. We then went into St Marc Cafe for some late afternoon coffee and pastry and travel planning. After a few hours in our hotel, we came back out for our final food stop, which was dinner at Isomaru Suisan; a 24-hour Izakaya. Despite the language barrier, the nice waiter did try to explain the menu to us, but to make things easier, we went with the cooked dishes instead of going for the grill. Here we had the baked garlic fish, a crab fried rice and some deep-fried fish fillets. Food can make anyone happy - especially those who are feeling extra grumpy from a lack sleep.
