#69 | TRAVEL DIARY: PHUKET

PHUKET, THAILAND

So we've covered bustling Bangkok and cultural Chiang Mai, now off we go to the sun and sand that is Phuket; our final pitt stop on our first Thailand adventure. Patong was our base where we enjoyed lazy mornings at our resort or at the beach, evenings on Soi Bangla, and day trips out to Phi Phi Island and James Bond Island where we snorkelled, canoed, explored a cave and island hopped. I had also celebrated my birthday in Phuket! The boy and I went to a place called New York Bar on Soi Bangla where we had some drinks and enjoyed some really great live music. At one stage, he ran up to tell the band that it was my birthday, so they called me up to the small stage, and the entire bar sang me "happy birthday", followed by the gift of a very strong double shot. The boy also made a special song request for Coldplay's 'Yellow', which is our favourite song (at the time hehe). It was such a fun evening. Throughout the night, we even got up from our seat, walked up to the front and danced. We didn't feel that great the next morning though, but I guess you can say call it an indication of a good night out.
