#199 | PASTA AT PADELLA

LONDON, ENGLAND

Pappardelle with Fennel Sausage Ragu
Sourdough bread with Puglian olive oil
Fettuccine Carbonara
Gnocchi with Nutmeg Butter

We were at the Borough Market when we noticed a long line forming outside a restaurant on the outskirts of the Market that wasn't even opened yet. 'Padella'. No idea what this restaurant served, but since we've already eaten, I took down the name and thought we'd check them out another time. That night, I searched them up and saw nothing but amazing reviews. It was also noted by TimeOut London as one of the best cheap eats for under a tenner. We had to try this place before we left London, which is exactly what we did the next night. We came for the dinner service, but made sure to arrive early in case there was a line, and sure enough there was. Fortunately, it wasn't too long and we were able to get in quite quickly. The restaurant has both ground floor and downstairs seating, but was quite small. It's got a really great vibe and atmosphere, and despite looking like hungry travellers, it felt like a nice date-night for us. We grabbed a few pastas to share, and it was a tough decision because everything on the menu sounded so good. We has the pappardelle with fennel sausage ragu, the fettuccine carbonara with pancetta, gnocchi in nutmeg butter and just some sourdough bread with olive oil. My goodness it was an amazing meal we had! Every plate was delicious. It was impossible to pick a favourite or decide what we would swap out. Even the bread was great. Everything we ate was incredible and we couldn't believe there was food like this for under £10 pounds a plate in London. We're back in London next year with some friends, and this is definitely a place I'd take them to.
