SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Iced Latte
Cappuccino
Pandan Custard Croissant
Duck Noodles
Chicken, Squid, Holy Basil Stir Fry
Pandan, Jasmine and Coconut Chiffon
We went to Boon Cafe for lunch after a morning doing the Sydney harbour bridge climb. Boon Cafe is an interesting Thai cafe and grocer on Pitt St near the Capitol Theatres. I have to start by saying that I absolutely love pandan! We saw some snacks on the menu, and one of them was pandan custard on a crispy croissant, which was an unsurprisingly amazing combination. After this wonderful sweet snack, we properly moved on to lunch. We had the duck noodle with fresh egg noodles and roast duck in a five spice broth, and the stir fried mince chicken, squid, holy basil and chilli on rice, topped with a fried egg. The food was pretty tasty, especially the stir fry. When we first walked into the cafe, I noticed there was an array of beautiful looking cakes and desserts at the counter, so I had to take a better look. When I did, I couldn't help but get a slice of the pandan, jasmine and coconut chiffon cake. Yes, PANDAN again! The cake was soft, moist, and not too sweet. It was just perfect! Looking forward to coming back here again and trying some other things on their menu.
