It was such a loooooong flight. The longest we've ever had - Sydney to Munich with a transit in Singapore - the first stop on our first trip to Europe! But of course, we were really excited to be travelling again. Our flight was in the early afternoon, which is a pretty good time because we were able to squeeze in a quick morning session at the gym and then spend some time at the American Express lounge before take off. We flew with Singapore Airlines, which is a really great airline. We had some trouble with our entertainment system - it didn't work - as soon as we boarded. The flight attendant came to check it out, but couldn't get it to work either, so he organised a hard system reset done in the back. And it wasn't just us who had the problem, it was our entire row and the one next to us. Fortunately, about an hour and a half into our flight, around when our first meal was being served, it started to work. Phew! We were pretty worried that the first leg of our flight would be without any entertainment. Some time later, the flight attendant came directly to apologise for the inconvenience, and gave us each a SGD $75 credit to use on their inflight store, which I spent on some skincare products. How nice was that?
We had a 3 hour layover for our connecting flight to Munich, which, at the time of booking, I thought time would just fly. Changi airport is one of the biggest in the world, with heaps of things to do. But instead of shopping and eating like I had planned, we found a comfy spot at the terminal and just rested. I forgot how tiring it was to be on a plane, and we're not even done yet. We're hoping on another in a few hours!
The aircraft we were on for our Singapore to Munich leg was nice. The seats were a little more comfortable and the screen was much larger and better quality in terms of colour and clarity. Really wanted to enjoy it, but for the most part of this journey, I was trying to get some much needed sleep. We really enjoyed flying with Singapore Airlines and look forward to travelling with them again. Now we're off to explore Europe! Yay!
