#181 | LOCH NESS & URQUHART CASTLE

HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND

Seeing the Loch Ness (and perhaps Nessie), was one of the first things we thought of doing in Scotland while we were planning our trip. We did it via a one day tour which covered Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands. As we were travelling from Edinburgh, it was a very, very long day, but we had fun. While we saw some dramatic landscapes on our drive, the best had to be the spectacular views of Loch Ness. Our tour also included some time to explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle, which sits on the shoreline beside Loch Ness. I really enjoyed our time at the ruins because we got to wander around and the views from here were pretty great. Also, check out how green the grass is! Incredible! Afterwards, we hopped on a cruise and sailed on the loch, before meeting our tour guide again to make our way back to Edinburgh. It was a super long day - 12 hours from when we left Edinburgh to when we returned - but we're really glad to have done it.
