#240 | TURKISH FOOD AT ANASON

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Hummus
Pastirma
Kusleme
Ahtapot

Anason is a Turkish restaurant and bar at Barangaroo. While we were in the city one weekend, we stopped by for a nice slow lunch. The menu is pretty much designed to be shared, which is great for us. For starters, we had the hummus with beef pastrami and the Pastirma, which is cured salmon with fennel and pickled chillies. We also got a basket of homemade bread to have with the hummus. Both these starters were amazing! The salmon was a recommendation by our waiter who said that it's one of their most popular cold mezze, and the one thing on the menu they have never taken off. Thank you to our waiter for the recommendation because that dish was just lovely. For our bigger share plates, we had the Kuslemeh with lamb fillet and charred leek puree and the Ahtapot, which is octopus with broad bean fava and sumac pickled onion. Again, these were both delicious. The octopus and the lamb were tender and flavoursome, and the accompaniments on the plate worked so well each of them. Anason is a great place for some delicious Turkish food. Wish we actually had more people on our table so that we could try more of their menu!
