#07 | RUSTIC PEARL

Sucuk Bruschetta
 Chargrilled Asparagus
Sour Cherry Nectar
Homemade Lemonade with fresh seasonal fruit

Rustic Pearl is a cosy little cafe at Surry Hills and is one of my all time favourite brunch spot in Sydney. The breakfast dishes appear quite standard - of the poached eggs on toast variety, but the thing is, they are done so, so well.

On our first visit, which was some time in early 2014, we had the Sucuk Bruschetta and Chargrilled Asparagus. The Sucuk Asparagus had chargrilled sucuk, melted buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomato, basil, pomegranate molasses and a soft boiled egg. The Chargrilled Asparagus consisted of poached eggs and hollandaise on toast, topped with crispy bacon pieces and almond flakesThese 2 items weren't on the menu on my more recent visit, but Rustic Pearl, if you're reading this, please bring them back on the next seasonal update because they were really yum!

The Royale
Bosphorus Benedict
Homemade lemonade with fresh seasonal fruit
Latte

On our latest visit, we ordered The Royale and the Bosphorus Benedict. The Bosphorus Benedict had been on my hit list since knowing I'd be making a return to Rustic Pearl. The dish had 2 poached organic eggs on toast with Bay lobster, avocado, homemade hollandaise, fresh coriander and chilli. Lobster for breakfast? Yes please. The Royale had 2 poached organic eggs on toast with Petuna Premium ocean trout, wilted baby spinach, homemade hollandaise and relish. So yum.

The dishes here are put together beautifully, tastes great and the serving sizes are big enough to fill you up. It does get busy here on weekends, so arrive early if you want to avoid the line (or visit on a weekday). However, there will be some amount of wait time with the food as each dish is made to order; as is specified on their menu. Hope you enjoyed this post!
