#27 | GAMING AT AKIHABARA

TOKYO, JAPAN

We were so excited to visit Akihabara; also known as Electric Town. We started off by playing a few arcade games in the SEGA building (the boy absolutely loved it), and then wondered around the many stores selling books and all sorts of anime merchandise at Radio Kaiken. We then had some lunch at what looks like a German beer cafe near the station, before making our way to Ryogoku Kokugikan for sumo wrestling. I've heard that tickets sell out quick for the tournament, so we ordered them online and had it sent to us in Sydney before leaving for Tokyo. I wouldn't consider myself a fan of the sport, but after seeing sumo wrestling in person, I now understand why the Japanese love it. There was surprisingly so much suspense and tension watching 2 men trying to push each other out the ring. Before heading home, we had dinner - ramen and gyoza. The ramen broth was amazing. It was so hearty that neither of us could actually finish the noodles.
