BANGKOK, THAILAND
The Chatuchak Weekend Market was probably the highlight of my Bangkok trip, and i'd say it's a must-see for all visitors. With an abundant variety of food and bargain shopping, it's easy to spend at least half a day wondering around the markets. The easiest way to get here is via Chatuchak Park Station or BTS to Mo Chit. These two stations are pretty much located right next to each other, so it's really just to do with where you're coming from and whichever is most convenient. From here, it's only a short walk to the market. Chatuchak market has everything you can think of buying: clothing, accessories, home decoration, plants, pets, antiques, handicrafts and food. To enjoy your visit here, come in light and comfortable clothing, use sunscreen, and wear a hat and sunglasses as you may find yourself in the sun for some time. Bring cash as most places don't accept card and try to get here in the morning to avoid the crowd and heat (it gets super hot). Also, don't leave without getting a bowl of duck noodles and coconut ice cream which comes in half a coconut and with two choices of topping - yum!
