Peperone Rosso
Tiramisu di Gigi
I had my first vegan pizza experience at Gigi's and it left me pleasantly surprised. We arrived for dinner, and though it wasn't opened for service yet, there was already a small line. It was only while we were in line, that we realised the restaurant's menu was purely plant based. The change came about in 2015. The boy was whinging because he was really looking forward to pizza night, and was convinced it wouldn't be good haha. Thankfully, that wasn't the case! We had the Traditional Marinara Pizza with San Marzano tomato, garlic, fresh oregano, and extra virgin olive oil, and also the Peperone Rosso Pizza with golden San Marzano tomato, red capsicum, capers, chilli, olive tapenade, oregano and extra olive virgin oil. Both pizzas were delicious! For dessert, we had the tiramisu made with coffee soaked homemade Savoyard biscuits, layered with plant based Marsala cream and dusted with cacao. We were definitely sceptical at first, but we had a wonderful dinning experience with great food and service, and we're now fully convinced that cheese and meat-free pizzas are pretty fantastic too.
