Brooklyn Boy Bagels
German Sausage
Cakes by Kraving K
Strolling through a market (preferably one with good food), is my idea of a relaxing weekend. My reason for visiting the Brewery Yard Markets at Central Park is that I'm a huge fan of chiffon cakes, and wanted to try the ones by Kraving K. By the time we got to the markets, which was 10.30am; there was already a queue at the Kraving K stall and some of their products had already sold out. We grabbed their raspberry cloud cake and a strawberry and hazelnut cream tart, along with some other food and took a seat on the wooden planks nearby the market. The raspberry cloud cake was bouncy, soft and fluffy, and the bits of raspberry pieces throughout was nicely tart. Now, I don't normally have fruit tarts, but the hazelnut cream tart was just too pretty to not try. I enjoyed the halzelnut cream filling; it wasn't too heavy, and I especially liked that fact that the strawberries weren't glazed (no sticky fingers afterwards).
We also had a bagel from the Brooklyn Boy Bagel stall; just a plain one with salmon and cream cheese. This was my first time eating a bagel. The cream cheese filling was delicious, but I found the bagel a little hard and chewy. It was like a workout in my mouth. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was toasted. Or maybe I'm just a not a bagel-kind-of-person. The highlight of our breakfast was the German sausage from the Oktoberfest Hut. A Bavarian Weisswurst with sauerkraut and caramalised onions, topped with honey mustard on a Vietnamese banh mi. YUM! Best German sauage I've had in Sydney. We also picked up a watermelon, raspberry and lime cold pressed juice from Prodjuice. A decent juice, but pretty steep at $8 for 300ml.
