#85 | KEPOS STREET KITCHEN

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Dad's Favourite Brekky
Wood fire hot-smoked salmon salad
Ricotta cheesecake

Kepos Street Kitchen is a Middle Eastern meets modern Australian corner cafe in Redfern. We visited one afternoon over the weekend, and luckily, didn't have to wait too long for a table. We had Dad's Favourite Brekky with falafel, hummus, labneh, hardboiled egg, tomato salad and schiacciata bread, and the wood fire hot-smoked salmon salad with olives, kipflers, soft boiled egg and dukkah. They were both great tasting and really hearty meals. I just wished there were a little more kipflers in the salad - they were yum. As we went to pay for our meal, we couldn't help but notice the array of desserts sitting on the counter. There were tarts, brownies and cakes that all looked so good, but we decided not to get any as we were super full. On our way out, the cashier realised that our bill was incorrect. She ran out of the store to get us to come back as she had undercharged us. We went back and sorted out the bill, but she felt so apologetic that she gave us a free slice of ricotta cheesecake to go. It was unnecessary but a really nice gesture, and because of that, we ended up with dessert after all.
