#95 | CLIMBING THE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

In celebration of me becoming another year wiser (maybe less of that, and really just another year older), we climbed the harbour bridge for the first time ever. I've always lived in Sydney, but never did it, so it was pretty special. On the day of our scheduled climb, it was bucketing rain! Our shoes and socks were completely soaked when we arrived in the morning, and I really wasn't looking forward to the day. We were dressed in their signature grey jumpsuit and because of the weather, also wore a jacket and pants over it. As we took our first steps onto the catwalk below the road deck, it was still raining fairly heavily, but we were under cover. Fortunately, once we were about to ascend the arch, it slowed down to a sprinkle before finally stopping. YAY! The views from the bridge are amazing. It was also crazy being right above the traffic, watching the sea of cars drive by. The entire walk was about 3.5 hours long. This was mainly because we had stops along the way for points of interests as well as sometimes waiting for the group in front of us to finish taking photos. I enjoyed the climb, and I'm so glad I had the chance to do it! BIG thanks to the boy for the wonderful day.
