#104 | THE AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY

NEW YORK, USA

I wouldn't say we're museum lovers. In fact, we rarely enjoy them. But with the American Museum of Natural History being one of the biggest attractions in New York City, we had to make the visit while in town. Surprisingly, we enjoyed it and would actually recommend the visit, especially if you are with kids (I'm sure they'll find it fascinating!). We didn't stay for as long as other visitors might have, but of all the things we saw, we spent the most amount of time at the exhibitions we found most interesting, that being the Fossil and Mammal Halls. The Museum's Mammal Halls were amazing with their lifelike (and anatomically correct) dioramas of North American, African and Asian mammals in their habitat. The Fossil Hall was cool too. It features the fossils of dinosaurs and other mammals that dominated the landscape even years before dinosaurs appeared. It's a great place for learning and suitable for  people of any age. Tickets can be purchased online in advance, but we got ours on the day via the ticket machines near the entrance, and there were no lines. We were here for about 2 hours, but you can definitely spend a whole day here if you took your time and enjoyed everything in detail.
