#115 | THE GROUNDS OF THE CITY

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Morning Sunshine Juice
Einstein Formula Juice
Egg Linguine
280g Rangers Valley Black Market Rump-Cap
Paris Brest

We were out and about in the city over the weekend, and took the opportunity to try the newly open Grounds of the City. We arrived at the restaurant at about 10.30am, thinking we made it for breakfast. However, once we asked for a table, we were told there's actually a waiting list and that we'd probably get a seat in about an hour and a half. Although slightly disappointed because I really wanted breakfast, we decided to wait it out to try their lunch menu instead. For drinks we had the Morning Sunshine juice with watermelon, pineapple, orange and passionfruit, as well as the Einstein Formula with kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, lime and ginger. Both were nice and refreshing. For our meal we had the fresh egg linguine with braised pork shoulder, pecorino and sweetcorn which wasn't too bad, but I think a little chilli or heat would have made it better. We also had the rump steak that came with hand-cut chips and bĂ©arnaise sauce on the side. There was a lady wheeling around a dessert cart in the restaurant and we couldn't resist picking out something sweet to finish on. We grabbed a Paris Brest to share, which is a delicious French dessert made with choux pastry and filled with praline-flavoured cream.
