Chicken Breast Schnitzel with Potato Salad
Goulash with Bread Dumpling
Fried Cheese with Spinach
We came to Lokal during lunch time and sure enough, it was busy. After finding the hostess (we entered through the back side of restaurant), we were told to wait by the bar for a table. Unsure of how long the wait would be as there were a few other people there, and they didn't take our names down; we went ahead and ordered some drinks. Not long after our drinks came that our table was also ready. Now, we've read some blogs and watched some videos before coming here, so we knew what we wanted to try. What we didn't realise was that most plates that you see in reviews are a combination of a main and a side. For example, beef goulash on the menu does not automatically come with the bread dumpling. You need to order it and they will serve it on the same plate. That wasn't what we prepared for, but luckily, our waitress gave us some recommended sides. We had the chicken schnitzel with potato salad, beef goulash with bread dumpling and the 6 weeks ripened fried cheese with a side of tartare sauce. In general the food was quite nice, but also fairly heavy. We ordered the fried cheese thinking we would be able to share it (and because we really wanted to try it), but it was too large for 2 people to finish, who both had a main each. And it was cheese, that was fried...so it's already a challenging dish to finish without treating it as a side. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch at Lokal. It's central location (on Dlouha St) also made it an easy lunch stop on our itinerary.
