SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Smokey Curry Udon
Oh Lord Burger
Melon Bingsu
Brioche French Toast

Valet is a stylish little cafe serving up a mix of Asian and Western dishes. When we first tried this place, it's grand opening was not long ago, so there was a short wait before being seated. Everything on the menu looked great, so it took us a little bit of time to decide. We went with the smokey curry udon which had curry-spiced seafood, salted egg, shallot and chilli oil, which the Boy really enjoyed. He is not normally a fan of udon noodles, but he liked the flavours this this dish. Said it was his favourite from all that we tried that day. We also had the burger made with a wagyu beef patty, maple bacon, caramelised onions, Swiss gruyere and Russian mayo in a brioche bun. It came with a bowl of seasoned fries. For us, it's always hard not to choose the burger item on the menu. It seems like the easiest thing to go with, and a burger can never really go wrong right? This burger was definitely a tall one, and pretty loaded. It was yum, just like how a burger should be, and the fries were good too. For dessert, we had the melon bingsu with fresh watermelon, honey dew and rockmelon topped with a melona bar and tropical syrup. At the bottom of the bowl underneath all that fruit was shaved ice. Now, this wasn't as fun as we thought it was. Apart from the fruit, which was really just fruit, there wasn't much more to it. They have other bingsu flavours on the menu, so maybe we should have tried a different one instead. There was another dessert we tried, and we had this on a seperate visit. Brioche French toast with house-made custard, brûlée and served with assorted berries. It was a very pretty dish, but very intense, and something that I think is best enjoyed when shared and had in moderation haha.
